Ensuring quality affordable housing for residents
North Dade residents got their issues, ideas and solutions for a better community in front of top Miami-Dade County government leaders during Thrive305’s Civic Week. The Carrie Meek Foundation was one of more than a dozen sites where residents connected with county employees and made recommendations on policy and budget priorities for Mayor Daniella Levine Cava’s Action Plan.
Discussions covered how to make local transit more accessible and efficient, increase support for mom-and-pop business owners and build trust between government agencies and the community. Plus, residents got direct help and access to county resources, including first-time homebuyer programs and support for social entrepreneurs. Stay tuned for the county’s upcoming workshops about the Action Plan.
