Lucia Davis-Raiford
Lucia Davis-Raiford currently serves as President & CEO of the Carrie Meek Foundation. Prior to working at the Foundation, Lucia was the Director of Miami-Dade County’s Community Action and Human Services Department. She was also Founding Director of the Domestic Violence Unit at New York City’s Police Department. Her past board positions include The Carrie Meek Foundation and the Women’s Fund of Miami Dade.

Matt Beatty
Matthew is vice president and chief operating officer at The Carrie Meek Foundation, the private philanthropic foundation advancing Congresswoman Meek’s legacy to build civically engaged, well-resourced and resilient communities. In the new role, Matthew creates and implements a strategic agenda to fulfil the Foundation’s mission: improve the lives of Miami-Dade County residents through Education, Housing, Health, and Economic Development, with a focus on Black, Brown and underserved communities. He was previously the senior director of communications and engagement at The Miami Foundation, where he helped lead the launch and development of Give Miami Day, one of the largest charitable giving events in the Southeast U.S.
A native Miamian, Matthew attended The Cushman School, where he now serves on the board of trustees, Ransom Everglades School, and earned his B.S. in management and M.B.A. in marketing at Florida A&M University. He was named one of South Florida’s 40 Under 40 Black Leaders of Tomorrow by Legacy magazine of the Miami Herald and included in the Best of Miami: Unsung Heroes by Miami Today. Matthew was also selected to Class V and the Board of Governors for Leadership Florida Connect, the premier statewide program for educating, engaging and inspiring Florida’s top emerging leaders.

Holly Woodbury
Ms. Woodbury, MPA, CFRE has more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit strategic planning, resource development, management, and coaching. She brings a depth of knowledge in building organizational capacity, recruiting and managing volunteer leadership, crafting fundraising strategy, identifying in-kind resources, researching and launching social enterprises, creating communications strategies, and establishing strategic partnerships. Her passion for this work has taken her around the world to lead teams for local, national, and international nonprofit organizations.
Holly is currently a strategic planning and management consultant and coach, helping nonprofits increase their fundraising, program, and volunteer leadership infrastructure. Additionally, she serves as a strategic advisor to Stella’s Child, an internationally recognized nongovernmental organization advancing workforce development for disadvantaged Indonesian youth. Holly serves on the Board of LEAP, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women who have experienced incarceration. Her successes and contagious positive energy have positioned Holly as a sought-after industry strategist, public speaker, coach, and advocate.
Sommer Walker

Sommer Walker
Sommer Walker-Davis is a communications professional with over 10 years of experience in the public and private sectors. As former Deputy Communications Director for Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson, Sommer was responsible for establishing Congresswoman Wilson’s social media presence, developing marketing and promotional collateral, creating web content, and drafting press releases. Additionally, Sommer has served as Associate Publisher of The Gospel Truth Magazine for 12 years. During her time as Associate Publisher she led the transition of the publication from newsprint to magazine format in 2008, increasing readership by 40%. During her time as a communications professional, Sommer has served as a Public Information Officer with Miami-Dade Water & Sewer Department and later established her own marketing and communications company, Synergy Marketing & Outreach. She has developed skills in graphic design, video production and social media management, broadening her ability to engage various audiences and stakeholders across media platforms. She currently serves as Communications Director for The Carrie Meek Foundation, a private foundation advancing Congresswoman Meek’s work through grantmaking, civic engagement, and community development in historically underserved communities. She is a passionate professional who considers it an honor to work in spaces that improve the quality of life for residents throughout Miami-Dade County, FL.
Jerry Calvert

Jerry Calvert
As a dedicated community advocate for youth, Jerry Calvert has worked to connect families and communities throughout Miami-Dade County. Mr. Calvert has been successful in leading nonprofits that focus on early childhood development and the social-emotional learning. Mr. Calvert received his bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University followed by receiving his master’s degree in management and leadership from Western Governor University. Jerry Calvert started his career with City Year Miami, where he held several positions and worked in the Liberty City, Little Haiti and Miami Gardens communities. During that time, he served and managed AmeriCorps members’ teams while they executed an academically rigorous intervention program in several high-need areas that addressed poor attendance, behavior and improving course performance in reading and math.
Jerry worked as the Senior Program Director for the early childhood AmeriCorps program, Florida Reading Corps, where he oversaw all aspects of programming and operations. Under his supervision, he led the expansion of the program from six to eighteen schools across Miami-Dade. Florida Reading Corps’ main contribution for this expansion was comprehensive data collection and reporting. In his tenure with Florida Reading Corps, he saw an 83% increase in kindergarten readiness. With the assistance of the University of Minnesota, Florida Reading Corps conducted a quasi-experimental study to assess the impact of the Florida Reading Corps within a selective demographic. The results of the evaluation lead Broward County Public Schools to join the following year as partners.
Mr. Calvert served as the executive/city director for the Miami region of Up2Us Sports. Up2Us sports is a trauma-infused coaching program, where coaches are placed in youth sports programs and schools focusing on the betterment of youth participants through sports. Up2Us Sports trains coaches in trauma-informed coaching. This allows coaches to have the ability to identify trauma and treat program participants. During his time at Up2Us Sport, he expanded their participation sites by 25%. Also, Mr. Calvert and his team recruited coaches to fill each of their participating locations. Jerry is trained in trauma-informed coaching and has led countless trainings in the subject matter. Mr. Calvert was recognized by their national headquarters for strengthening relationships with corporations, local foundations, and pro sports team like the Miami Marlins and Miami Heat.
Jerry also served as the Special Project Manager for The Children’s Trust where he helped oversee and manage all organizational projects. Mr. Calvert received his project management training from the University of Miami. As the Special Project Manager, Jerry was responsible for managing the Children’s Trust project portfolio. The county-wide book club to social-emotional focus training for the county, also known as The Parent Club, as the Special Project Manager, Jerry also lead numerous IT/Data projects where he served as the agile/scrum manager. Jerry spearheaded the development of processes and procedures to strengthen The Children’s Trust’s impact throughout Miami-Dade County. Mr. Calvert created the first Project Management Office for The Children’s Trust. He trained staff on project management practices and theories. Mr. Calvert continues to dedicate his time and professional career to the betterment of communities throughout Miami-Dade County.
