Increasing access to the best care for a healthier life

Among the Carrie Meek Foundation’s long-term goals are to support access to affordable healthcare in the underserved communities, to organize healthcare screenings, and to encourage minority youths to pursue careers in the health sciences. Our historical HIP HOP 4 HEALTHTM initiative harnessed the power of pop music and dance as a form of exercise in after school programs at 20 middle schools throughout Miami-Dade County, included a year-end dance competition, and hosted a wellness fair with health information and new screenings. New health programming is coming soon to further the Foundation’s efforts to improve access to healthcare and provide information about healthcare programs, issues and policies at the local, state and federal levels.
